Redwood Coast Regional Center
Vendor Audits & Reviews
Independent CPA audits and reviews under WIC §4652.5 for Redwood Coast vendors across Del Norte County, Humboldt County, Lake County, Mendocino County.
The Redwood Coast Regional Center, headquartered in Ukiah, serves California's far north coast — Del Norte, Humboldt, Lake, and Mendocino counties. It is one of the most rural service areas in the system, and its vendors are correspondingly small and far-flung. Any vendor receiving $500,000 or more in Redwood Coast funding across the State fiscal year is subject to the WIC §4652.5 independent CPA review or audit requirement, the same as a vendor in Los Angeles.
Do you need a review or an audit?
It depends on how much Redwood Coast Regional Center funding you receive — not your total revenue from all sources — measured across the State fiscal year (July 1 – June 30):
If you are vendored with more than one regional center, your funding is aggregated across all of them to determine your level. See the full review-vs-audit comparison for what each engagement involves.
Vendors we work with in Ukiah and beyond
Provider life on the north coast is shaped by distance and scarcity. Vendors serve consumers across enormous, sparsely populated counties — from Crescent City to Clearlake — with residential homes, day programs, and supported living agencies that are often the only option in their community. Staff travel long two-lane miles to deliver services, which makes properly documented mileage a meaningful part of the 85/15 program-spending picture. Just as significant: professional services are thin on the ground up here, and many Redwood Coast vendors have never worked with a CPA firm that knows the regional center framework. The engagement does not require a local firm — we perform Redwood Coast reviews and audits remotely on the same fixed timelines as our metro work, with the report filed to Ukiah on schedule.
Your deadline
Your independent report is due within nine months of your fiscal year-end, and the report plus any management letter must reach Redwood Coast Regional Center within 30 days of when your CPA issues it. There are no extensions under the statute. Calendar-year vendors (fiscal year-end December 31) have a September 30 deadline the following year — use our deadline calculator to map yours.
