The Frank D. Lanterman Regional Center — known to most vendors simply as "Lanterman" — coordinates services for people with developmental disabilities across some of the most densely populated neighborhoods in California: central Los Angeles, Hollywood, Glendale, Burbank, and the Pasadena area. If your organization receives $500,000 or more in funding from Lanterman across the State fiscal year, you are subject to the independent CPA review or audit requirement under WIC §4652.5 — and Lanterman, like every regional center, will expect that report on file.

Vendors we work with in Los Angeles and beyond

Lanterman's footprint sits in one of the most provider-dense regions in the state, and the mix of vendors reflects that. We work with Lanterman-vendored residential care facilities and licensed group homes, day programs and adult day health centers, supported and independent living services (SLS/ILS) agencies, and the large number of applied behavior analysis (ABA) and behavioral-intervention providers concentrated around the Hollywood and Glendale corridors. Many of these are small-to-midsize nonprofits and family-run for-profit homes for whom a single management-letter finding can stall referrals. Because central LA vendors frequently operate multiple program types under one entity — a group home plus a day program, say — the 85/15 program-spending allocation is where engagements most often get complicated, and where getting the expense classification right before fieldwork matters most.

Your deadline

Your independent report is due within nine months of your fiscal year-end, and the report plus any management letter must reach Frank D. Lanterman Regional Center within 30 days of when your CPA issues it. There are no extensions under the statute.
